Re: Favorite Non-DC or Marvel Cartoon?
HA! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE ASKING THIS!
My answer would be The Adventures of Tintin. The one from 1990s by Ellipse-Nelvana, not the one from 1958 by Belvision. Anyone knows this show? Watched it? Read the original comics? Like him? Love him? Obsessed with him? Wishing he was real and--
...*cough* too much. Yeah, The Adventures of Tintin. Go Google.
I'll tell more if anyone wants to, but be prepared for a fullscreen-length post.

Re: Favorite Non-DC or Marvel Cartoon?
Well, you DID say I could post my favorite anime...
Anyway, my favorite will probably have to be 'Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Stood Still.'
Despite its shortness and some minor flaws in its storytelling, the retro-futuristic setting and excellent score was more than enough to draw me into the series. Not only that, but it gave me a lot more incentive to look into older stuff as a result.
And going back to the music, it's probably the best I've ever heard in an anime. Just give a listen.
