Batman Brave and the Bold's art takes from the original Batman Comic series nearing the time Robin came it. And in an episode of Batman the Animated Series ("Legends of the Dark Knight" I believe is what its called) they took from the art style which was a playful animation and is actually embarrassing getting caught watching it. I simply can't agree with the art style Brave and the Bold chose.

When you throw a side-by-side comparison I tend to chose the latter. Not only is the voice acting better in every other Batman television show and series, but the art has always been better. The reason why I don't like Brave and the Bold is because I believe that it was a terrible Dark Knight gimmick. They thought "Oh we could get some cash now that Batman is popular now!" BTAS has always had twisted and messed up stories that were always worth watching. They were intricate and well thought out. Not only that but they put a lot of work into voice acting, scoring, art, and writing. So what's the big deal? Why is BBATB so good? Why do you like it so much? Truly, which style best suits Batman?

I'll admit, I do prefer the art style of BTAS more than BTBATB but I think brave and bold puts an equal amount of work into there scoring, writing and especially the voice acting. There have been plenty of legendary voice actors on brave and bold and they've all done a great job. Clancy Brown as Rohtul, Kevin Conroy as the Phantom Stranger, R Lee Ermey as wildcat, Mark Hammil as the Spectre and Neil Patrick Harris as the Music Meister to name just a few. The scoring is not bad either and the writing in episodes like Legends of the Dark Mite and Chill of the Night is superb. Brave and Bold is not a marketing gimmick to cash in on the dark knight (although there are way to many BTBATB toys out there). In fact the producer said that Brave and Bold was in the planning stage ever since the end of 'The Batman'. Its a fact that no one will ever come close to matching Kevin Conroy as the Batman and that BTAS will forever be the definitive Batman series but I think that the reason why fans like BTBATB so much is that it is a sharply written, interesting show with great respect for the character and dc comics history. If you don't believe me just look at episodes like Deep Cover for Batman, Game Over for Owlman, Legends of the Dark Mite, Mayhem of the Music Meister and Chill of the Night.

I completely agree with dcfan. He took the words right outta my mouth.

I love the show because I love the show. There's so much more than just "unacceptable" art, the episodes are great, the voice acting ISN'T that bad, and what I like most is, like dcfan said, its respect towards DC characters. I love the way they actually pay attention to lesser-known characters and let people know about them. And just because it's NOT Conroy doesn't mean it's bad. There are other talented people. They're good too, give them a chance. And the whole point IS to show Batman in a lighter tone, so you can't actually blame it on being a "bad gimmick" of the Dark Knight.

The art? So art is probably about opinion. It's bad? Okay. At least they respect the original. And originality's actually a good thing. That IS the original Batman design. Without an original design there will be no Batman. They respect the original design and I respect that. And there ARE dark episodes, too. They still have him in character. It's not that bad.

Maybe you haven't watched the latest episode? Wait, forget I asked anything. You probably wrote that after watching like what, three episodes? XP So never mind.

And why do people always compare other series with BTAS? Okay, it's good. So what? If it's so perfectly good, then there's no point in comparing it with other series, right? What's the point of comparing it if you actually think that it'll never be as good as BTAS? It's redundant. You just keep telling us how wonderfully good BTAS is. Besides, a fair comparison should actually include both plus and minus of both sides (but you're trying to critique the art, and obviously you're not trying to make a fair comparison, because BTAS is SO much better in your opinion, and BTBATB is NOT as good, so it doesn't apply here. Smile No, seriously. When people like or hate something, they rarely make a fair comparison. So it's fine). Well BTAS is done, and I'm flexible to other series (which is a good thing, rather than sticking with something for so long and not actually moving). So people, BTAS is just one damn Batman series. Years ago. It's not the God of the Gods of series. There are others. >.<

After Batman Begins came out "The Batman" (With the same character designer for "Jackie Chan adventures" which is a more lighter toned series) came out being produced by Warner Brothers. It had a darker tone that stayed more true to Batman's devilish past than the happy-go-lucky Brave and the Bold is going for. Rino Romano (who played as Luis Sera in Resident Evil 4.. if you don't know Resident Evil 4 I implore you to play it already.) did an amazing job as playing Bruce Wayne. I never said Conroy is the only voice for Batman. I thoroughly enjoyed The Batman, and at least it takes Batman more seriously.

Okay, why don't you like it? The story game over for owlman is actually (very loosely based) on a Batman comic from the seventies written by Dick Sprang where Batman does team up with the Joker. And I definetly wouldn't say that Brave and Bold Batman is happy go lucky. Chill of the Night proved that. He still is the dark brooding caped crusader, he's just in a very campy world.

"Batman's rich history allows him to be interpreted in a multitude of ways, to be sure this is a lighter incarnation but is certiantley no less valid and true to the characters roots than the tortured avenger crying our for mommy and daddy"

You said it all before I did, bro. See? It's all canon. Not liking it is understandable, but whether you like it or not, that's the way it used to be in the comics. That's what it is. It's CANON. (I can't believe it either, but I actually like that episode. XP)

No the particular scene I posted. The Joker's voice actor sucks ass. The Batmobile's interior is not thought out at all. Doesn't Robin usually always sit in the passenger's seat? Why would there be knock out gas in the passenger seat? I gave the show a chance. I give nearly every show a chance (even Surfs Up.. gawd..) but I can't find myself being a loyal fan to this show. Young Justice on the other hand looks something to look forward to.
