Blue Beetle TV Series Empty Blue Beetle TV Series

Post by Rianna Lauren Mon Aug 02, 2010 7:32 am

I know, right? Very Happy I just heard it last week from dcumoviepage at Youtube. As usual I will be including a piece of information so here's one from our beloved IGN, posted almost two weeks ago.

Could Blue Beetle be the next DC hero to get the live-action treatment? Geoff Johns, recently promoted to DC's Chief Creative Officer, had a surprising amount to say this weekend on his Twitter account about the possibility of a Blue Beetle live-action TV series. Johns revealed that they have already shot "a live-action test of Jaime Reyes' scarab activating his suit." In Johns' words, "It. Is. Awesome."

Johns went on to write that Blue Beetle will appear in most episodes of the animated Batman: The Brave and the Bold this year, "and we're hoping to develop a live-action show. Fingers crossed!" He also noted that he might bring the test footage to San Diego Comic-Con, "if I can break it out of the vault."

With the Green Lantern movie at last in production, DC and Warner Bros have recently been ramping up their development on live-action adaptations of DC comic books, which have been notoriously difficult to get off the ground through the years – Batman movies and Smallville aside.

Update: Geoff Johns clearly has a lot of passion about making a live-action Blue Beetle series happen. In a new blog post, Johns has posted several photos from the test they filmed showing Jamie Reyes transforming into Blue Beetle. John stresses, "This isn't final. This isn't greenlit. It's only a test that was done. We still have a long way to go to see if we can get this off the ground and a lot of people to jump on board…but check out some stills."

And cause I'm just nice like that (lol), here's a trailer for y'all.

Comments por favor! Very Happy

Blue Beetle would be funny in a live action. He's still learning to be a hero, if you ask me. Balancing that with regular teen stuff, plus live action awesome effects, looks like an alright show to me.

Well, the CGI still bothers me a little bit. Still, looks like this is going to be a pretty good show.

Yeah but the effects weren't great in Smallville either. It could be a great show IF it gets off the ground. To many great ideas are sacked before reaching the production stage.

A lot of people were upset when Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger were cast as the Joker. One of the big arguments was that they just didn't look like Joker. Look how they turned out Wink And Jaime is suppose to be mexican american so...

Well yeah, Mexican American. Just... Y'know. He's so darn cute in the series. And comics. I just don't see any resemblance in the cuteness aspect. XP
