Arkham Asylum TWO (Officially Titled Batman: Arkham City)

OK, I never got to play the first game, but I've seen and read enough to know it rocked. Not to mention close friends' opinions.

AND now I just heard there shall be a second one! Same ol' villains, plus Talia Al Ghul, Mr. Freeze and Two Face!

I agree! I played the first game and it was probably the best video game i've ever played! I cannot wait for E3 so we can hear more about the game! Plus Kevin Conroy said the game would be even darker than the first!

I have not played the 1st one either. Mainly because I have not upgraded my PS2 yet, ha! But I've seen a ton of video footage & everything people have told me says that it totally rocks. Plus, it won "Game Of The Year"...duh!

Even though the much anticipated sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum is not going to be released for at least a year (expected release is Fall 2011), fans have gone rabid for information ever since it was released. Luckily, we here at Nerdbastards have you covered!

According to the latest issue of Game Informer, which features the cover seen above, Batman: Arkham City will find Bats in a walled-off prison area of Gotham that is controlled by some of the meanest and baddest of Batman’s rogue’s gallery.

According to the director of the game, Sefton Hill, the game will begin with Batman having many of his moves from the first game, as well as most of his gadgets. Not only is that unheard of in most sequels, but it also means that the game creators will have more moves (confirmed as at least twice as many in the sequel) and gadgets coming in the game.

And, as if that news wasn’t enough?

"Our objective in this game is not to make the biggest game we can, but to make the best game possible. Gamers who played ‘Batman: Arkham Asylum’ will know how dedicated we are as a studio to injecting an incredible amount of detail into every environment we build. It is this attention to detail that gives our games the deep and intense atmosphere that so many players have found so compelling, and so we have had to seriously scale up our art team in order to bring the same level of detail to ‘Arkham City,’ which is about 4-5 times bigger than ‘Arkham Asylum.’"

Yeah, you read right … 4-5 times bigger than the original, which was already fairly large to being with!
